Kai Scanlan

As Tap Attack’s youngest faculty member, Kai already boasts an incredible resume with multiple World Championship Titles, extensive performance credits and a plethora of scholarship opportunities.

Kai currently both teaches and trains with Tap Attack and the Great Britain Tap Team where he has achieved multiple World Championship titles over the years, both as a dancer and choreographer.  He assists regularly for Tap Attack at workshops and conventions, nationally and internationally, where he also relishes the opportunity to perform.  He feels extremely fortunate to have received a number of scholarships, which have enabled him to train in America with such celebrated teachers as Jason Janas, Anthony Morigerato, Sarah Reich, and Chloe and Maud Arnold. He was also offered an internship with Jason Janas’ tap company Co.MITT  in Los Angeles.  Kai is currently training at the renowned Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts.

Some of Kai’s most prestigious performance credits include TV shows such as Britain’s Got Talent, Little Big Shots and Taking The Next Step, in which he progressed all the way to the final and was awarded the position of runner up. Kai has performed in numerous theatrical and charity galas, videos and corporate events, shows across the UK, Europe and America and a most meaningful short film, “Dance beats cancer’.

Having developed a passion for choreography, Kai has worked hard at formulating his own dances which he has been honoured to perform for television, stage shows and competitions. He has also enjoyed choreographing for the GB Tap Team at the IDO Tap Dance World Championships over recent years and is proud to have seen his creations gain a number of podium places and World Titles. Kai has also choreographed for the Main Stage at Move It 2019. Kai is looking forward to further progressing this aspect of his dance career.
